Scotch Bonnet Hot Sauce
This Scotch Bonnet Hot Sauce combines, you guessed it, scotch bonnet peppers, fresh herbs, shallots, and apple cider vinegar to make this ultra spicy, slightly sweet hot sauce that’s sure to tingle your tastebuds!
Ingredients
- 8 scotch bonnet peppers
- 4 shallots
- 1/4 cup basil
- 1/4 cup cilantro
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon agave, honey, or coconut sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- pinch of ground cloves
Instructions
- Blend all ingredients in a food processor or blender until uniformly and finely chopped into a rough paste, you want to retain some texture. Add additional vinegar if your blender needs a little extra help.
Notes
- If you don’t have shallots, you can substitute other types of onions but it will make the hot sauce less sweet.
- If you don’t have or like cilantro, you can substitute it with parsley.
