Making your own cashew butter is a lot easier than one might think! All you need is a bunch of cashews and a food processor. Optionally, you can add additional ingredients to make it your own. Look below for photos of the process!
2 cups cashews, raw or roasted
Add the cashews to a food processor and blend for about 10 minutes, scraping down the sides every now and then, until completely smooth.
Roasted cashews will blend much more easily (and taste better in my opinion), but you can use raw cashews if you prefer! If you have raw cashews but you want to roast them preheat your oven to 175°C and roast the cashews on a parchment-lined tray for 10-15 minutes.
Some optional add-ins to make this cashew butter even better are vanilla extract, cacao powder, dates, maple syrup, a pinch of salt, or cinnamon – or a combination!
